We Got in Front of the Camera This Time | Couples Session at Sprague Lake | Rocky Mountain National Park
Nov 26, 2021
Okay, so we'd be lying if we said we don't get in front of the camera that often. Taking photos - many times of ourselves or each other - during our travels is actually how we first got into photography. But, we rarely ever have another professional taking photos of us and that's a completely different experience - letting someone else take the creative reins.
Here's the backstory: leading up to our trip to Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado, Laura had the idea of finding a local photographer and doing a session trade. We would take photos of them and they would take photos of us. We both walk away with two galleries of photos. One for ourselves and one for our portfolio. Sounds like a fun idea, right? It was!
Through social media we connected with Angelina (www.angelinaarts.com). After getting to know one another a bit we arranged our meet up and you can see the results for yourself below. Let us just say that we had a blast hanging out with Angelina and even though the weather was looking right on the edge, we wound up getting one of the best sunsets during our whole week in Colorado. By the way, these are just a select handful of the great shots we got out of this session.
The setting for our little photo trade out was Sprague Lake. It's very accessible and doesn't even require a hike from the parking lot. The views are honestly some of the best that we saw in the entire Park, so if you're not an avid hiker it's the best of everything.
We'll let the quality of Angelina's work speak for itself. She certainly has a trained eye for great lighting and beautiful composition! We felt totally at ease throughout the whole session and we're so glad that we ended up doing this. Now we have some beautiful shots together with great memories attached, something we're always encouraging others towards. As for the shots we got of Angelina, you can see those in our other blog post right here!
